Easy Meringue Topping

Some find it difficult to make a good meringue for garnishing pies. This recipe is for those who never did it well. By following this method, you can only succeed!

1In a saucepan, combine cornstarch and cold water. Add boiling water and stir until the mixture is thick and transparent. Let it cool completely.

2Beat the 3 egg whites until they are frothy.

3Gradually mix the sugar, continuing to beat until the mixture is firm and shiny. Add salt and vanilla, then gently fold in the preparation of maize flour. Beat again quickly for a few minutes.

4Spread meringue on a cooled pie.

5Bake at 180 ° C (gas mark 6) for 10 minutes. Tadaa!


3 egg whites

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons cold water

10 cl of boiling water

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

6 tablespoons powdered sugar

1 pinch of salt
