The trick to have a delicious guacamole, it is of course very good avocados. Make sure they are ripe. Serve guacamole dip with tortilla chips or small slices of bread.

Directions

1Cut avocados in half. Remove pits and put the pulp in a bowl. Mash the pulp with a fork.

2Pour the lemon juice, onion, salt and olive oil.

3Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least an hour before serving.

Traditional guacamole, as it is prepared in Mexico is not smooth. But if you prefer it smooth and homogeneous, you can dump all in a blender before serving. Avocados are rich in protein, beta-carotene and vitamin E. They are also rich in monounsaturated fatty acids good for improving cholesterol levels. With olive oil, they feature about 75% monounsaturated fats.

Juice of half a lemon

2 tablespoons chopped onion

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
